The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has stressed the need to show sensitivity to all the core issues between India and China. During his meeting with Chinese Counterpart Wen Jiabao in Hanoi, Vietnam, this morning, Dr Singh raised all the difficult issues including that of stapled visa, trade imbalance and boundary question. On the boundary question, both sides were in favour of an early solution and asked their special representatives to do so with a sense of urgency. Briefing media on the meeting which lasted about 45 minutes, the National Security advisor Mr Shiv Shankar Menon said, both sides expressed satisfaction at the development of the bilateral relations. In reply to a question on trade imbalance which is heavily in favour of China, Jiabao said that he is conscious of it and China has taken certain steps to address it. The Chinese Premier said he hopes to visit India by year end during the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries which was welcomed by the Prime Minister. Mr Jiabao agreed with Dr Manmohan Singh that there is enough space in the world for India and China to realize their development aspirations adding that they need to have cooperation in all areas. AIR correspondent reports that this is the first meeting at the top level after Defence exchanges were put on hold following the refusal of a proper visa to the Northern Army Commander Let Gen B S Jaswal, whose jurisdiction includes Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Manmohan Singh also met the South Korean President Lee Miung Bak and discussed bilateral, regional and global issues. The Prime Minister will also attend the India -ASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit tomorrow and also hold talks with the Prime Ministers of Vietnam , Australia and Singapore.
