Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has stressed the need for holistic education that would provide character and skills for the younger generations. He called upon them to develop principles of sharing skills and abilities to lend a helping hand to the less privileged. Addressing fresh graduates at the Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning in Puttaparthy in Ananthpur district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, he asked the youth to acquire skills at global level and act with a sense of responsibility for the society. Stating that the country needs global leaders in every sector such as education, business and Research, Dr. Singh emphasized the need to create technologies and systems for future. He said development of skills and persuasion of research should not be confined to technology alone and fields like humanities and philosophy must also be persuaded. He lauded the services that the Satya Sai Trust is rendering to the backward and tribal area especially in the fields like Education, Health and infrastructure facilities.Over 300 students have been presented doctoral, post graduate and under graduate degrees from fields of Sciences, Social sciences, Economic Sciences, Business Administration and Humanities from the deemed university in the presence of Sri Staya Sai Baba on the occasion. Gold medals were presented to 23 students from different faculties while Sai Prabhaka of MBA awarded as best all rounder. Doctoral degrees were present to 7 students.
