Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today promised action against anybody for any wrong thing done in the 2G spectrum allocation. Replying to questions after his speech at a leadership conclave in New Delhi, he appealed to Opposition parties to allow Parliament to function. He added government was ready to discuss all the issues on the floor of the House.Dr. Singh added that aspects of the 2G spectrum allocation were being looked into by respective investigating agencies in the domain of their interest. He, however, refused to speak anything more on the spectrum issue, saying Parliament was in session.The Prime Minister talked about the need to deal effectively with the threats of corruption and crony capitalism. Noting that it is often said that these are testing times, Dr. Singh said that he had a feeling that Indians were always living through such times. He added many times he felt like a high school student appearing in one test after another.Responding to questions on President Obama's visit to India, he maintained it was a great success as it had taken the relations between the two countries to a new high.Dr. Singh said New Delhi was ready to hold talks with Islamabad to discuss all the issues but terror machine must stop first. He referred in detail India's efforts in improving relations with its neighbours and described the look east policy as very successful.Earlier in his speech, he said that though being constantly tested, India was winning and the youngsters optimism gave him hope. Talking about the new wave of economic growth unleashed in the 1990s, he said reforms did not follow any external recipe. Referring to the global meltdown two years ago, Dr. Singh said India could not say that it was not affected but it was among the few countries that recovered quickly from the crisis. He expressed confidence that the country would return to sustained 9-10 per cent growth but it would not happen automatically. He said massive investments are needed in infrastructure, education and health, in employment-generating industralisation, in more productive and eco-friendly agricultural development. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in connection with the 2G Spectrum case. The affidavit has been filed through Director in the Prime Ministers office. It has been stated that there was no inaction on the part of the Prime Minister in the case.
