PM, Sonia to inaugurate new terminal at IGI

The new terminal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi is all set for inauguration tomorrow. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, along with National Advisory Council chairperson Ms Sonia Gandhi will inaugurate the Terminal 3. <br/><br/>Touted as world's largest and most modern airport in the world, it can cater to 34 million passengers annually. <br/><br/>The terminal has a capacity to handle 12,800 bags per hour with 6.4 km of conveyor belts. Journalists were taken for a round inside the newly built terminal today ahead of its inaugural. <br/><br/>The actual operations for international services begin on the 16th of this month. AIR correspondent reports strict security arrangements have been made in and around the airport.
