PM slams nations entering other territory, intruding into maritime zone

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today criticized nations entering other's territory and also intrusion into maritime zone of other nations. Modi was delivering the keynote address at Business luncheon hosted by the business community of Japan in Tokoyo today.

Modi said that world is divided into two policies, Expansionist and Development oriented.

He said nations should decide whether to be Expansionist or development oriented. Without naming countries, Modi said that expansionist polices of 18th century can be seen now. He said, nobody can adopt expansionist policy in 21st century. He said Expansions polices cannot contribute towards development.

Modi said that development guarantees peace. He said, nations should take the path of development and reach new heights.

In a bid to encourage more investment from Japan, Modi announced that a Special Management Team will be set up under the Prime Minister’s Office. Modi also said that Japan government can depute two representatives from their country .

He said that India and Japan have greater role to play in ensuring Asia’s importance in global position. The Prime Minister emphasized that Japan and India can play the role for the world peace and development.

Modi said that his priority is to provide good governance. He said that India has made a big jump by achieving 5. 7 percent growth .Modi said that his government will emphasize on Skill development in the line of Japan to meet up the global workforce requirement by 2020 .

Modi said, India has 65 percent young population. He said that Japan can help India in this regard. Modi said that India will also go for mapping of global requirement of workforce. The Prime Minister said that in the past 100 days the central government had undertaken many initiatives.

Modi, said that there is tremendous scope in research sector and both the countries can do a lot together. Modi underlined that clean energy is one the main requirement. He said that India believed in environment friendly development .

He added that people have given clear cut mandate to both the government of India and Japan and so now policy makers and industry leaders should decide on what role both the countries can play to the commitment of world peace.

Meanwhile, the summit meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe is now underway at Akasaka Palace.

Talking to AIR correspondent on the eve of the meeting, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that both leaders will discuss a whole range of issues, including co-operation in Defense and Infrastructure development.

He said that both the leaders will discuss what Japan and India can do together for the rest of Asia and the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi already said that both the countries can play bigger role in world’s peace.

Meanwhile, Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Akasaka Palace.Modi was also visited Taimei Elementary school in Tokyo this morning.

During his visit, Modi has invited Japanese language teachers to visit India to teach the language in India.
