Prime Minister Narendra Modi today slammed Congress-NCP Maharashtra government for the plight of cotton growers in the state. Terming the policies against the interest of cotton and onion farmers, Mr Modi said, if voted to power, all policies of the previous government will be set aside.
Addressing an election rally in Dondaicha-Sindkheda in Maharashtra, he said, every year 3700 farmers were committing suicide in the state and those responsible for this should be punished in the election.
Dismissing opposition charges, Prime Minister Modi ruled out splitting of Maharashtra and separating Mumbai from the state. Narendra Modi said, as long as he is in power in Delhi, Maharashtra will not be split. He said, Congress is doing cheap politics and spreading lies to gain political milage in the election.
