Increasing investment, completing infrastructure projects on time and exploiting natural resources to the country's benefit are among the 10-point agenda of priorities set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the new government.
Building confidence in bureaucracy so that civil servants do not fear to face the consequences of their right decisions and giving priority to health, water and energy sectors are also the part of the agenda.
According to sources, the other issues in the priority list are transparency in governance, promoting e-auction in tenders, placing new system for better inter-ministerial co-ordination, people-oriented system in government machinery, addressing concerns relating to economy and stability and sustainability in government policy.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has asked his Cabinet colleagues to set a 100-day agenda with focus on efficient governance, delivery and implementation of programmes. He instructed his Council of Ministers to give priority to the issues brought forth by the state governments as also the Members of Parliaments.
Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said, the Prime Minister during the meeting advised all Cabinet Ministers to take their Ministers of State into confidence and give them proper work.
He said, Mr Modi also stressed on taking all states along by the Centre and address the representations made by them on priority basis.
Mr. Naidu said, women security, curbing price rise, improving Centre-State relations and employment generation are the priority areas of the new government.
