The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Monday reaffirmed the government's commitment to making every child in the country healthy, educated and ensuring that his childhood is full of joy. He sought people's cooperation in this endeavour.
The Prime Minister, who presented National Bravery awards to children at a function in New Delhi expressed happiness that the cash reward for the prize winners this year had been considerably enhanced.
Describing children as India's future, Dr Singh lauded the acts of bravery of the children for which they had been rewarded. He paid tributes to the five children who had lost their lives while protecting other children.
