Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has sought the co-operation of all political parties to allow the smooth functioning of Parliament. Speaking to the media, Dr. Singh said, the UPA government was ready to discuss any issue on the floor of the House.
Seeking the co-operation of his colleagues in the House, Dr. Singh said, the Parliament has a very heavy Legislative agenda during the Winter Session. The Prime Minister said, the country is facing several difficulties due to the impact of the global economic crisis.
New jobs have to be created on a large enough scale to provide gainful employment to our youth. India also need to increase investments in infrastructure sectors and social services like health and education to accelerate economic growth.
Dr. Singh reminded that we all have an obligation, in opposition as well as in Government, to work together to enable our parliamentary democracy. Prime minister Manmohan Singh invited all political parties to join hands in this vital national endeavour.
