Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has reiterated that his Government will not make any compromise on terrorism. He sought the cooperation of all parties on the setting up of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre.
Prime Minister was replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address to the Joint Sitting of both the Houses of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.
Dr. Manmohan Singh said that his government will continue to spend more money on the welfare of the people, particularly in the health and education sectors. Prime Minister hoped the country’s economy will bounce back touching 7 to 8 per cent growth rate in the next two to three years.
The Prime Minister said he is proud of the government’s increased spending on social sector, which will go in long way in promoting inclusive growth.
Later, the House adopted the Motion of Thanks by voice vote after opposition members withdrew their amendments.
