PM says patriotism of Indian Muslims can not be questioned

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the patriotism of Indian Muslims can not be questioned as they will live and die for the nation.

Mr. Modi told a private international TV channel that the terrorist organizations are doing injustice to the Muslim community by their acts and if anyone thinks that Indian Muslims will dance to their tune, they are in delusion.

He was replying to a question on the recent release of Al Qaeda video in which the terrorist outfit had said it will open its branch in the Indian sub-continent. The Prime Minister said, Indian Muslims will not want bring bad name to India.

Mr. Modi, who is scheduled to visit United State later this month, admitted that though there has been several ups and downs in Indo-US relations in the past, the two countries can develop genuine strategic alliance.

He added that the Indo-US ties should not be seen in the limited context of Delhi and Washington as their ties are in a much larger sphere
