PM says North East has potential to initiate second green revolution in country

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that North East has the potential to initiate second Green Revolution in the country. Addressing a youth rally in Guwahati yesterday, Mr Modi said, North East and Assam have so much water, fertile land and hard working farmers. He said, the first Green Revolution happened in Punjab and Haryana and now the second Green Revolution can take place in this region. <br/><br/>Mr Modi, mentioned that India's north-east had immense possibilities of development as the land was blessed with natural resources and raw material. Talking about farmers, Prime Minister hoped that in 2022, when India will celebrate 75 years of Independence, the income of the farmers will be doubled. <br/><br/>Mr Modi said, it is challenging but when we progress with determination then it is possible. He said Assam and the North East can contribute immensely in achieving this target. Prime Minister said development should be balanced and all regions in the country should progress equally.<br/><br/>Prime Minister said that the centre will leave no stone unturned for the development of Assam. He also said, NDA Government will work for development of the state with the mantra of Aage Badhega Assam.
