The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that he had not authorised anyone to purchase any votes during the trust vote in 2008. Speaking at India today conclave in New Delhi today, he said that he was not aware of any purchase of votes and was not certainly involved in any such things. The PM's statement came after cash-for-votes controversy rocked Parliament. Dr Singh said that he was not involved in any of these transactions on allegations. He added those who have been named in the Wikileaks cables have already expressed their doubts over their veracity. Dr. Singh said that his comments on coalition compulsion should not in anyway convey the impression that he would not follow strictly the Constitution.Prime Minister said that tragic nuclear incidents in Japan in the aftermath of the tsunami and earthquake should make us revisit issues of nuclear safety and learn lessons from these experiences. He also said that problems such as piracy require cooperative solutions by several states, both to prevent piracy on the high seas and to eliminate the causes which make it possible.
