PM saddend by devastating floods in Myanmar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India stands shoulder to shoulder with Myanmar, which have been severely hit by the cyclone Komen. In a tweet Mr Modi said, he is sad to learn about devastating floods in Myanmar. <br/>India yesterday airlifted several tonnes of rice, noodles and medicines to Myanmar which have been severely hit by floods and landslides. <br/><br/>In a statement External Affairs Ministry has said, around 2.5 lakh people have been affected and over five lakh acres of farmland destroyed. It said, Indian Air Force aircraft are in the process of delivering supplies to Kalay and Mandalay and are ready to supply to other affected areas as advised by Myanmar authorities. The Indian Embassy in Yangon remains in close touch with Myanmar authorities and international organizations in this connection.
