PM rules out splitting of Maharashtra; Says till he is in Delhi, no one can break state

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today ruled out splitting of Maharashtra and separating Mumbai from the state. While replying to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's attack, Mr. Narendra Modi said, till he is there in Delhi, no power on earth can break Maharashtra.

Hailing Mumbai and Maharashtra, the Prime Minister said that without Mumbai, there is no Maharashtra and without Maharashtra, there is no India.
However, the Shiv Sena has pointed a fresh set of barbs at former ally BJP, questioning why its tall leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to miss his work in Delhi and address rallies in Maharashtra.

In an editorial of its mouthpiece Saamna, Shiv Sena took a dig at state BJP leaders stating that due to lack of efficient leaders in Maharashtra, the BJP requires Prime Minister to come down all the way from Delhi to address rallies in Maharashtra.

Addressing a gathering at Sindhkheda in Dhule district, Mr. Modi said, politicians have the habit of making promises during campaigns and then forgetting them. But he is not a politician, he is a public sevak. He further said that his party never makes promises to win elections. They make promises to transform lives of tribal communities.

Attacking Congress on Corruption in Maharashtra , Mr. Modi raised the issue of farmers' suicide and said that 3700 farmers committed suicide in one year in Maharashtra. Mr. Modi further said that his government wants to work for poor people.

Addressing another rally at Bhusaval in Jalgaon district, Mr. Modi said that once the electricity is generated at Sardar Sarovar Dam, the electricity which will be allotted to Maharashtra will not be charged.

Mr. Modi also assured that bananas from Jalgaon District will be exported all over the world. The Prime Minister claimed that insecurity has aroused among Congress and NCP seeing the huge crowd turning up to attend his rallies. Later in the day, he will address the public meetings at Khamgaon and Nagpur covering districts of Buldhana and Nagpur.

Meanwhile, leaders of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP are also holding rallies at various places in the state.
