The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today reviewed issues related to preparedness for nuclear disasters, earthquake, Tsunami in the special meeting of the National Disaster Management Authority, NDMA, in New Delhi. The meeting is believed to have recommended measures for strengthening existing mechanism to prepare to deal with any disaster. It was attended by the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahulwalia and officials of the NDMA, Atomic Energy Regulation Board, the Department of Atomic Energy and other concerned agencies. Official sources said the NDMA presented its action plan to deal with disasters radiation leaks, earthquake or a terrorist strike.AIR correspondent quoting officials sources adds that the meeting reviewed the preparedness for dealing with chemical, biological, radiological emergencies.
