PM returns home after successful visit to Japan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Delhi on Wednesday afternoon after completing a successful 5 days Japan tour. He was received by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at Palam Airport.

Modi, during his maiden tour to Japan as a Prime Minister, visited Kyoto and Tokyo. In Kyoto, he witnessed the signing of India- Japan treaty to develop his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi, on the line of Kyoto.

Modi also visited temples and met several prominent persons in Kyoto including his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe. Modi had sought Japan’s help to develop sickle cell anemia treatment.

On the other hand, during his stay in Tokyo, Modi held summit talks with his counterpart Shinzo Abe. Japan announced to invest 35 billion dollars in India in the next five years which was termed by Modi as a great achievement for India .

Modi also invited Japanese industry leaders to invest in India. He announced to set up a Special team under the PMO to expedite the investment proposals of Japanese businessmen.

The Prime Minister assured that there is no red tape but only red carpet for investors as the government has eased a lot of regulations. New Delhi said that a new era in India- Japan relations has dawned following the visit of Narendra Modi.

He addressed several business summits, visited educational institutes and met Indian community living in Japan. Narendra Modi's image of a crowd puller leader continues in Japan also . People from all walks of life, cheered him in Japan .Japanese media also prominently highlighted his visit.
