Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released digital recordings of epic Ramcharitmanas, produced by All India Radio.<br/><br/>It is part of AIR's attempts to go digital in a big way so that the public broadcaster can reach audiences globally.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi said the digital compilation of Ramcharitmanas by AIR is an inspiration for others.<br/><br/>He commended the team who worked for years to compile the digitised version of the epic.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister said Ramcharitmanas speaks about Indian family values which are admired all over the world.<br/><br/>On attachment of people with Ramcharitmanas, Mr Modi said the people who went to far off countries over 100 years ago took this great literary work with them.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister said Akashvani has nine lakh hours of recordings which is rare. He said there should be research on this unique treasure of the AIR recordings.<br/><br/>On FM auction, Mr Modi said the auction process has fetched Rs. 1100 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a special digitally restored recordings of epic Ramcharitmanas, produced by All India Radio.<br/><br/>It is part of AIR's attempts to go digital in a big way so that the public broadcaster can reach audiences globally. <br/><br/>The recordings of Goswami Tulsidas' work, sung by leading singers of Bhopal gharana, have been done by the AIR over several years and are regularly broadcast especially in the Hindi heartland.<br/><br/>The Ramcharitmanas was composed and recorded for the first time in 1980 at Akashvani, Bhopal.
