PM rejects politics of anarchy saying it has no place in a civilized society

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rejected the politics of anarchy saying it has no place in a civilized society. He also made big promises to people of Delhi like 24/7 power supply and houses to all slum dwellers by 2022. Modi was Launching BJP's campaign for the coming Assembly polls in Delhi at a rally in Ramlila Maidan on Saturday.

In an apparent reference to Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal's politics of dharna, Mr Modi said, Mr Kejriwal held dharna in the national capital despite being its Chief Minister. Launching BJP's campaign at a rally in Ramlila Maidan, the Prime Minister said, if the AAP leader wants to be an anarchist as he has claimed to be, he should go to forest to join the naxals. Referring to resignation by Kejriwal government in February last year after being in power for 49 days, he said, people should punish them as one year rule in Delhi was wasted because of it.

Mr Modi also attacked the Congress-led UPA government for doing nothing in the national capital during its ten year long rule. He rejected the sectarian politics of caste and religion.

He also rejected rumors that government is mulling to decrease the retirement age of government employees from 60 to 58 years. Mr. Modi promised to usher in a corruption-free system, saying it has been started at the top and gradually it will reach down to colonies. Mr Modi also sought a clear mandate for his party to ensure all round development of the city.

BJP President Amit Shah, Union Minister Venkaiha Naidu, Chief Ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra and other senior leaders also addressed the gathering.

Delhi, which is under President's Rule, is expected to have Assembly polls next month.
