The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today strongly rejected the opposition allegation that India Pakistan talks were held under US pressure. Dr Singh intervened several times during the over an hour long speech of BJP Leader Mr L K Advani to set the record straight.<br/><br/>He said there is no change in the US policy towards India and Pakistan after Barack Obama took over as the President.<br/><br/>AIR Parliamentary correspondents Vijay Raina, Sarita Brara & Prem Kukreti report that on the charge of Mr Advani on one rank one pension, the Prime Minister attacked the BJP leader for trying to create rift between the government and the services on the issue.<br/> It was a heated exchange of words between the Prime Minister and the top BJP leader after the latter made some observations to this effect. Dr Manmohan Singh intervened more than five times, which is rare, to paint a clear picture on behalf of the government. Perhaps he thought the nature of the allegation was very serious.<br/><br/>On the issue of secret talks between India and Pakistan Dr Singh questioned the BJP leader whether they took the House in confidence when the then NDA External Affairs Minister was holding talks with the US Administration. On his part Mr Advani made it clear that his intention was only to raise the issues of concern and not to create a rift on any issue.<br/><br/>The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha took up the discussion on the President's address after several adjournments on oil price hike.<br/><br/>Participating in the debate, Mr L K Advani cautioned the government against any secret agreement on Kashmir saying it will have serious consequences. He also called for bringing out a white paper on the progress made to bring back black money stacked in foreign banks and favored state funding of elections.<br/><br/>Mr Advani charged that the price rise is not just mismanagement but result of several scams relating to imports and exports and reiterated the party's demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe it. Alleging that there are 450 central and state government schemes and institutions in the name of Nehru-Gandhi family, Mr Advani called for keeping government schemes and institutions away from party politics.<br/><br/>Earlier, Initiating the debate in Lok Sabha, Rao Inderjeet Singh of the Congress said that Indian Economy has successfully weathered the impact of global economic meltdown and underlined the need for ensuring food security and making administration more accountable and transparent.<br/><br/>Initiating the debate in the Rajya Sabha, Mr P J Kurien of the Congress said that its message is clear-to protect pluralism, secularism, rapid and inclusive growth. Hailing the success of government schemes, he said, despite economic slowdown, growth momentum has been maintained. The debate will continue in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha tomorrow.<br/>
