PM refutes Team Anna's allegations of corruption against him, colleagues

The Prime Minister refuted Team Anna's allegations of corruption against him and his cabinet colleagues.

Dr Singh said he will quit public life and face any punishment, if charges leveled against him by Team Anna regarding coal block allotment are proved correct.

He said, it is unfortunate that irresponsible allegations relating to irregularities in allocation of coal blocks are being made without confirming the facts.

Dr Singh was talking to media persons onboard his special flight on his way back from Myanmar last evening.

He said, the government is yet to receive the CAG report and it will submit its detailed factual response before the Public Accounts Committee after getting the report.

He said, the Coal Minister has given factual details in response to these allegations and the Coal Ministry has put up all the information on its website.

Describing his visit to Myanmar as very successful, the Prime Minister said, President Thein Sein has assured him that Myanmar's soil will not be used against India.

Dr Singh said India is very appreciative of efforts being made by the Myanmar President for national reconciliation and democratization.
