PM reaching Kazakhstan on Friday

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will be reaching Astana capital of Kazakhstan tomorrow on a two day official visit on the invitation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It will be his first visit to Kazakhstan and second to central Asia region. He will have bilateral talks with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his counter part Karim Massimov in Astana on several issues including energy security civil nuclear cooperation, Agriculture, IT and Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty to address the menace of terrorism and regional security. In an exclusive interview Indian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ashok Kumar Sharma told our correspondent covering PM visit to Astana that Kazakhstan has agreed to share 25 percent gas produced from Satpayev oil basin in Caspian see. A final agreement will be signed tomorrow between ONGC and Kazak oil company Kazmunay Gas in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Kazak President Nursultan Nazarbayev. He said six agreements and MoUs are likely to be signed during visit of Prime Minister Dr. Singh and a joint statement will also be released at the end of the visit. He said both the countries will sign an MoU for a road map to resolve pending issues between both the countries in a time frame manner. AIR correspondent reports that all preparations are in last stage at Astana to receive the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He will be given a warm ceremonial welcome at President House on his arrival. Realization of a MoU signed between both the countries on nuclear sector is high on agenda for discussion. This MoU was signed in the year of 2009 during visit of Kazak President Nazarbayev. Discussions on the Inter Governmental Agreement in the field of civil nuclear cooperation are in advanced stage and agreement likely to be signed during Dr. Singh trip to Astana. Agreements for mutual cooperation in the field of Agriculture and Information Technology are also on card. He is the first dignitary visiting Astana after re-election of President Nazarbayev with thumping majority on 3rd of this month. New Delhi has said that visit of Dr. Singh will further consolidate the relationship between both the countries.
