Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today reached Frankfurt in Germany, enroute to the US. After staying for the night at Frankfurt, Dr. Singh will leave for Washington tomorrow where he is scheduled to have a summit level meeting with US President Barack Obama on September 27 in the White House. This will be the third summit meeting between the two leaders followed by exchange of State visits during 2009 and 2010.
Implementation of Civil Nuclear deal, ways to expand cooperation in the fields of defence, security and economic issues will be high on the agenda of the meeting between Dr. Singh and Obama. Situation in the Indian Sub-continent including Afghanistan after withdrawal of US forces next year, besides global issues like Syria are also expected to figure in the talks.
The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to give push to the co-operation in civil nuclear and defence fields which are the pillars of the relationship between India and United States.
