Prime Minister Narendra Modi while participating in the 6th BRICS Summit in Brazil has said that India firmly believes that terrorism, in any shape or form, is against humanity and there should be zero tolerance towards it.
The Prime Minister said he comes from a land where the idea of the whole world being one family is rooted in our ethos as 'vasudhaiva kutumbakam'.
He stressed the need that BRICS countries, should take lead in preserving cyber space as a global common good.
He said that Cyber space is a source of great opportunity but cyber security has become a major concern for all.
PM said that the region stretching from Afghanistan to Africa is experiencing turbulence and conflict and remaining mute spectators to countries being torn up can have grave consequences.
Mr Modi said that open, rule-based, international trading regime is critical for global economic growth and it must address aspirations of the developing world.
Earlier in the day, 6th BRICS Summit has started in the eastern coastal city Fortaleza of Brazil.
Prime minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South African President Jacob Zuma and host country President Ms Dilma Roussef are participating in the first private working session of the Summit.
There are several issues including set up of the proposed development bank which are to be discussed at the meeting.
The leaders of growing and major world economies of BRICS nation are together here to delve upon the issues which are common, regional as well as international in nature.
