Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on his 113th birthday. Indian Council of Agricultural Research, ICAR is organising Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan week from today on the birth anniversary of former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Late Chaudhary Charan Singh. The celebration is being organised keeping in view their immense contribution for promoting use of science for the welfare of farmers.<br/><br/> ICAR Institutes and Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country are organising various farmer awareness programs aiming to showcase and demonstrate new technologies for enhancing agriculture productivity and profitability. Progressive farmers who have successfully adopted latest technologies and have made contribution in their wide-scale adoption will be honoured on the occasion. To attract students towards agriculture, essay writing competition, debates, group discussion, quiz competitions is also be arranged in schools and colleges.
