Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and former Parliamentarian Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his death anniversary.<br/><br/>In a tweet, Mr Modi remembered Dr Mookerjee's rich contribution to India's history.<br/><br/>Apart from being a political activist, Dr Mookerjee was also a barrister and academician. He also served as Minister for Industry and Supply in the first Cabinet post Independence.<br/><br/>He founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951 which was re-formed as the Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP in 1980.
