PM pays tribute to 1965 Indo-Pak war martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to martyrs at the Amar Jawan Jyoti to commemorate the 50th anniversary of 1965 Indo-Pak War. <br/><br/>The homage ceremony named as Shradharpan marked the ending of nationwide month-long celebrations to honour the soldiers who fought the war. <br/><br/>The celebration started on August 28th, the day India had captured the Haji Pir pass. Mr Modi met war veterans and family members of the martyrs after paying his tribute. <br/><br/>Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh and three services Chief were present on the occasion. <br/>A huge celebration on the lines of the Republic Day to mark the occasion was organised at the Raj Path and India Gate lawns in the national capital which included a commemorative exhibition Shauryanjali, a carnival Indradhanush and a thrilling aerial display of advanced Light Helicopters, Sukhoi 30s and Mi 17.
