PM on two-day UAE visit from tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a two-day visit to United Arab Emirates, UAE beginning on Sunday. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Gulf nation in 34 years. During the visit Mr Modi will also meet with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The visit is expected to further boost the economic, cultural and social ties between India and the Arab country.<br/><br/>The focus of the visit is on trade, investment, security and the Indian Diaspora. India-UAE bilateral trade crossed 59 billion dollars in 2014-15, making the UAE India's third largest trading partner after China and the US. To meet the energy requirements India will also seek to enhance cooperation in energy sector during the visit The Indian community is gearing up to give Modi a momentous reception at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium grounds that is expected to draw more than 40,000 people. <br/><br/>Ahead of his visit Mr Modi in a Facebook post last week had said that UAE is a valued partner and the ties between the two countries indicate the vibrant relations. Admiring the economic strides taken by the UAE, the Prime Minister said the people across the global have been attracted by the economic success story of the Gulf country. UAE and India have strong partnership which goes back to several years and both are multicultural societies that respect and celebrate plurality and diversity.
