PM Narendra Modi reviews situation on Novel Coronavirus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reviewed the situation on the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19 and action taken so far by various Ministries. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar, among others.  The Prime Minister complimented all departments for the work taken up so far. He said, India has to be prepared in its response as per the evolving scenario.<br />''<br />''Mr Modi said all departments should work in convergence and action shall be initiated for creating awareness in the community about the disease and the precautions to be taken. The  Prime Minister also urged people not to panic by the rumours over the spread of Coronavirus. He suggested people to consult doctors in case of any symptoms of fever, cough or sore throat rather than resorting to self treatment methods.<br />''<br />''Three fresh confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus have been found in the country. Briefing media in New Delhi last evening, Special Secretary, Ministry of Health Sanjeeva Kumar said out of these fresh cases, two are from Ladakh with a  travel history to Iran and one from Tamil Nadu with a  travel history to Oman. The total number of positive cases of COVID-19 has gone up to 34 in the country. Mr Kumar said, so far over 7 lakh 26 thousand passengers have been screened at airports.<br />''<br />
