Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives while protecting the borders in Jammu and Kashmir.

Army sources said, Mr. Modi laid a floral wreath at the War Memorial at the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army in Badamibagh Cantonment in Srinagar.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, Vice Chief of Army staff Lt General Dalbir Singh Suhag.

Later the Prime Minister addressed Army officers and jawans at a Sainik Sammelan.
