PM Narendra Modi addresses his first campaign rally in WB Assembly elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, the only viable option to do away with 40 years misery and misrule in West Bengal lies in giving a chance to BJP to come to power and ensure all-round development. The Senior BJP leader was addressing his first campaign rally in West Bengal Assembly elections today.
Addressing the rally at Kharagpur this evening, Mr Modi said, the 34 year Left rule in Bengal followed by the five year Trinamul rule that came to power on a hollow promise of Parivartan, has back-stabbed the people's dreams and aspirations, taking the once torch-bearer state of India to a record low.

He alleged that the only change that Bengal has seen is the unrestricted growth of bomb making cottage industry all over the state and growth of rampant terror which the ruling party has allowed in exchange of votes during the elections. Referring to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he said, Didi, has changed from a commoners' leader to a shehanshah.

Giving figures of Bengal's downslide in all India ranks of health, power, finance and other parameters, Mr Modi alleged, the complete neglect of industrialisation, first by the Left and now by TMC government has destroyed the state and the youth are compelled to flee away for want of jobs.

AIR correspondent's report:- Saying that the TMC, Congress and CPI-M combine has been resisting BJP in Bengal for their own vested interests blocking the road to development, the Prime Minister said, the BJP ruled states are a pointer of BJP's dedication for growth and progress. Taking a dig at Congress-Left alliance Mr. Modi said, by coming together for votes in Bengal while fighting in Kerala, both the Congress and the CPI-M have in utter disregard challenged the traditional outstanding wisdom of the people of Bengal.
