Former President Pranab Mukherjee today shared a letter he had received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi before leaving Rashtrapati Bhavan. <br/><br/>Mr Mukherjee shared the letter on micro blogging site Twitter and said that it touched his heart. Mr Modi in the letter thanked Mr Mukherjee for being a father figure and a mentor. <br/><br/>Mr Modi said, Mr Mukherjee's intellectual prowess has constantly helped his government and him. He said that despite coming different parties and having different ideologies, it was the strength of Mr Mukherjee's intellect and wisdom that both were able to work together with synergy. <br/><br/>Expressing his gratitude and admiration towards Mr Mukherjee, the prime minister in his two-page letter said that the former president inspired all with his simplicity, high principle and exemplary leadership. Mr Modi said, Mr Mukherjee during this political journey and Presidency placed the well being of the nation over everything else. <br/><br/>He said, India will be always proud of Mr Mukherjee, a President who was a humble public servant and an exceptional leader. <br/><br/>As Pranab Mukherjee shared the letter with people in Twitter, Mr Modi replied that he will always cherish working with Mr Mukherjee.
