BJP president Amit Shah has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to make Uttar Pradesh most prosperous state in the country while adding that UP has the most fertile land even though the state is still one of the poorest state. <br/><br/>Addressing a Privartan Yatra rally in Azamgarh today Mr. Shah criticized Samajwadi Party government in the state and holds them responsible for migration of people from eastern UP to other states and unemployment in the state. The BJP president called upon people to bring change in Uttar Pradesh and said "change in Azmagarh will also bring change in UP."<br/><br/>One of the Azamgarh seat in Lok Sabha is represented by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Addressing the gathering Mr. Shah alleged that the state government is promoting casteism in the government jobs. <br/><br/>He said only BJP majority government could ensure the development of state not by the SP and BSP. While commenting on the issue of demonetization of rupees 500 and 1000 notes the BJP President said that due to demonetization "inflation will be down, Black-marketing will be curtailed and counterfeit currency being supplied by Pakistan will be stopped." BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya, MP Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey were also present on the occasion.
