PM Modi to take part in golden jubilee celebrations of Auroville tomorrow

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a public meeting organised by the Puducherry unit of BJP before leaving for Chennai.&nbsp;</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>Auroville is a place visited by lakhs of people from around the world, seeking the peace of mind in their life.&nbsp;</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>The prime charter of the place is that it belongs to nobody in particular but to the humanity as a whole. In the centre of Auroville is the Matri Mandir situated in a large open area called Peace from where the future township will radiate outwards.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>It was founded by Mirra Alfassa, called the mother. Mirra was born as the second child to an Egyptian mother and a Turkish father who had settled in France. In her twenties, she studied occultism in Algeria and returned to Paris. She worked with several different groups of spiritual seekers.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>During her visit to India, she visited Sri. Aurobindo in Puducherry. Sri. Aurobindo recognised her as an embodiment of the dynamic expressive aspect of the creative force in April 1920.</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>Later she became the Mother who organised the growing group of followers around Sri Aurobindo.&nbsp;</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>Matri Mandir can be viewed as a large golden sphere which seems to be emerging out of the earth symbolising the birth of a new consciousness.
