PM Modi to take part in discussion on Constitution in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to speak in the Lok Sabha today on the discussion on commitment to the Constitution, which was organised to mark 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Mr Modi sat in the Lok Sabha through the entire day and took notes during the discussion yesterday. <br/>Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley will also initiate the discussion on commitment to constitution today. The upper house was adjourned for the day as a mark of respect to sitting member Khekiho Zhimomi of Nagaland People's Front, who passed away after suffering a stoke. <br/> <br/>Initiating discussion in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Home Minister Rajnath Singh expressed concern over the misuse of the word secular for political purposes. Mr Singh said, its misuse should come to an end as its rampant misuse have led to instances of tension in the society. Participating in the discussion, Congress leader Mrs Sonia Gandhi targeted the government over the issue of intolerance alleging that the ideals and principles that are embedded in the Constitution and inspired the leaders are now under attack. Several other opposition parties also raked up the issue of intolerance saying the untoward incidents witnessed in the recent past should be condemned as they send out negative messages.
