In Manila, unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place, as global leaders start arriving the Philippines capital to attend the 31st ASEAN summit and the East Asia Summit. <br/><br/>The city of Clark also has been brought under security blanket as summit activities take place there as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the US President Donald Trump, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and a host of other leaders will be arriving at Manila tomorrow. <br/><br/>Over 59-thousand security personnel have been mobilized by authorities to ensure peaceful conduct of the summits. Coastal patrolling has also been intensified by the country's coast guard and fishing restrictions imposed in the region. <br/><br/>All the conference venues remain sanitized and strict vigil has been enforced in the face of opposition from some activists groups on various grounds including overspending for the summits of the Asia-Pacific's key strategic forums. <br/>'<br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be participating in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the regional grouping ASEAN. He will address the East Asia Summit, the 15th Indo-ASEAN summit and the diaspora in a community reception being hosted by the Indian Ambassador to the Philippines. <br/>'<br/>Officials say, a bilateral meeting with the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has been scheduled and many more are being worked out. Prime Minister Modi would be visiting the International Rice Research Institute and the Mahaveer Foundation in the capital city. <br/><br/>External Affairs Ministry officials told AIR in Manila that a quadrilateral meeting on strategic matters between high-ranking officials of India, the US, Japan and Australia is also being worked out on the sidelines of the summits.
