Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the national memorial for former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at Peikarumbu near Rameswaram on Thursday. <br/><br/>All arrangements are being done at the venue for the function on the second death anniversary of Dr Kalam. Prime Minister Modi may also flag off new train service from Rameswaram to Ayodhya according to railway sources. <br/><br/>The national memorial for former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam will be a standing testimony for the love and respect towards people's President. The foundation stone of Dr Kalam National memorial was laid at Rameswaram last year on his first death anniversary. <br/><br/>A seven feet bronze statue in Peikarumbu was also unveiled last year. The national memorial is set up by DRDO in 2.11 acres at a cost of Rs 16 crore. Dr Kalam died on July 27 in 2015 at Indian Institute of Management Shillong where he had gone to deliver a lecture.
