Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day visit to Manila, Philippines from 12th of this month. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Secretary East, in the External Affairs Ministry, Preeti Saran said, Mr Modi will attend the 25th India-ASEAN Summit besides the 12th East Asia Summit there. <br/><br/>She said, the visit is aimed at deepening India's relationship with the ASEAN countries. <br/><br/>The Secretary East said, on 13th Mr Modi will meet President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte and discuss issues of mutual interest. <br/><br/>Ms Saran said, the entire gamut of relations between the two countries will be reviewed during Mr Modi's visit. The India-ASEAN Summit and the East Asia Summit will take place on the 14th.<br/><br/> Issues like terrorism, agriculture, capacity building and skill development are likely to figure in the talks during the Summits. During his stay in Manila, the Prime Minister will meet with the Indian Community.<br/><br/>Replying to a media query, Ms Saran said, India is committed to further improving people to people contacts and connectivity among ASEAN countries.<br/><br/>On Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), she said, India is committed to the RCEP and expects a balanced outcome. RCEP is a proposed Free Trade Agreement between the ASEAN nations.
