Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on four nations tour beginning 29th of this month. During his visit to Germany, Spain, Russia and France, Mr Modi is expected to hard sell investment opportunities during the visit. <br/><br/>External Affairs Ministry today said on 29th of May Chancellor of Germany Dr. Angela Merkel will host Prime Minister at her official Meseberg Country Retreat where the two leaders will discuss issues of mutual interest. Mr Modi and Chancellor Merkel will hold the 4th India-Germany Intergovernmental Consultations the next day. <br/><br/>Both the leaders will be jointly addressing top CEOs of India and Germany at a business event. Later in the day, Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call on President of the Republic of Germany Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier. <br/><br/>India and Germany enjoy a strategic partnership. The upcoming Prime Minister's visit will give further boost to this special relationship.<br/><br/>From Berlin, Prime Minister would be travelling to Spain on 30th May. The following day he would meet the country's leadership and discuss bilateral and other issues of mutual interest. As part of the programme, Prime Minister would be calling on King Felipe VI of Spain.<br/><br/>Mr Modi would also have a Round-Table interaction with leading Spanish business leaders who are keen to invest in India.<br/>Prime Minister's visit to Spain will add further strength to the existing warm and friendly bilateral ties.<br/><br/>On the third leg of his tour, Prime Minister will be in Russia on June 1-2, for holding the 18th India-Russia Annual Summit in St. Petersburg on June 1, 2017 with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir V. Putin. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi on Prime Minister's Russia visit, Joint Secretary in the MEA G V Srinivas said, following the Summit, Prime Minister will participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 2. He said, it is the first time that the Annual Summit will be held in Russia outside Moscow. <br/><br/>Russia was the first country with which India instituted Annual Summits. This had followed the Declaration of Strategic Partnership between India and the Russian Federation in October 2000 in New Delhi. Since then annual Summits have been held regularly every year.<br/><br/>At the bilateral Summit in St. Petersburg on June 1, the leaders are expected to review the entire gamut of India-Russia bilateral relations and review the progress made since the last summit held in Goa on October 15, 2016.<br/><br/>Mr Modi will visit Paris, France on 2-3 June. He will hold official talks with President of France Mr. Emmanuel Macron on 3 June and discuss issues of mutual interest with a view to further strengthen India-France strategic ties.
