Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the annual summit of Shanghai Cooperation Summit (SCO) beginning in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan tomorrow. Besides taking part in the summit, the Prime Minister will also hold bilateral talks with Kazakhstan President, Mr Nursultan Nazarbayev for boosting ties in the fields of trade and commerce, education, tourism and other sectors.<br/><br/>Kazakhstan is India's largest trading partner in Central Asia and the total trade volume between the two countries rose from 120 million US dollars to around 900 million dollars in recent years. India's imports to Kazakhstan include pharmaceuticals, tea, tobacco, telephone equipment and construction machinery. <br/><br/>Its imports from Kazakhstan comprise oil, uranium, titanium, steel, copper among other things. The Indian businessmen in Kazakhstan opine that trade volume between both the countries will enhance considerably once road and rail connectivity are developed for faster movement of goods and services in the Central Asian region. <br/><br/>Mr Ramamurthy Budhar, an Indian working for a construction company in Kazakhstan feels that completion of Chabhar Port in Iran in which India invested 500 million US dollars will lead to increase in trade links between India and Kazakhstan.
