Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time as the guest of honour will address the plenary session of the St.Petersburg International economic forum in Russia today. <br/><br/>India and Russia as part of the 70 years of celebration of friendship will be moving together in economic spheres with special importance to Make in India initiative. Prime Minister will also be visiting the State Hermitage Museum and also the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts today. He will also meet the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission and former Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargasyan.<br/><br/>Yesterday both the countries signed the historic St.Petersburg declaration as a roadmap to enhance cooperation after 18th annual bilateral summit. The Joint statement issued proclaimed cooperation in all possible areas including defence, counter terrorism, intelligence sharing, connectivity initiative trade and nuclear energy.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness at the signing of the St. Petersburg declaration. Addressing media persons at the Constantine Palace jointly with Mr. Putin, he said both sides have agreed to interact closely on various fields including economy, manufacturing and energy.<br/><br/>Speaking to the media late last night, the Joint Secretary in External Affairs Ministry Gopal Srinivas said that one of the remarkable agreement is to carry ahead with the exploration of hydrocarbon at Arctic region and the development of inland waterways and developing ports among many others. <br/><br/>He said a high level Science and Technology team will visit the country to divulge more in the area. He also said that in manufacturing in aviation sector, India and Russia will have military to military collaboration. Both the countries also agreed to national reconciliation of Afghanistan to bring peace and stability to the region.
