Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, textile industry is the symbol of Indian diversity and time has come to concentrate on textile export to get leverage from the rich diversity of our country.<br/><br/>PM said this after inaugurating Textiles India 2017 Exhibition and Summit organized by Ministry of Textiles at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today. PM said the diversity of our country is reflected into our clothing pattern. He asked all the states to catalogue & map the clothing diversity & clearly earmark strengths & specialties their state or region.<br/><br/>Talking about the rising demand for products with zero carbon defect, PM said there is niche market emerging for organic products. He urged the textile manufacturers and institutes to indulge in research of new organic fabrics other than cotton and jute.<br/><br/>PM said that India has a great advantage for textile Industry over other countries in terms of availability of raw material, infrastructure, young skilled labour and big domestic market. He said textile industry needs to constantly innovate to meet the changing demands and tap new markets.<br/><br/>Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani, MoS Textiles Ajay Tamta were present on the occasion.<br/><br/>This mega event has been organised to promote Indian textiles and handicrafts across the globe. Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Assam, Telangana along with Gujarat are co partners of the events.<br/><br/>The three day Mega International event, will have B2B, B2G and G2G meetings with over 2,500 international buyers, more than 1000+ international and domestic exhibitors and around 15,000 domestic visitors.<br/><br/>PM will will shortly inaugurate the integrated sports and entertainment Arena Project at Maninagar in Ahmedabad. He will also address youths on the occasion.
