PM Modi says, BJP has transformed politics of perception into politics of performance at national and State levels; Addresses public rally at Davangere in Karnataka

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP has transformed the politics of perception into the politics of performance at the national and State levels. He was addressing a public rally after holding a road show in Davangere today. He was given a rousing welcome by the people before the rally which was organised by the BJP as part of the culmination of its Vijay Sankalpa Yatra.
''
'' The Prime Minister pointed out that a fractured mandate is detrimental to the cause of development and a government with an absolute majority will speed up development through a double-engine government. He said that a coalition government only helps serve the selfish interests of the people in power. He called upon the voters to give him an opportunity to serve the people of Karnataka once again. He further appealed to the BJP cadres and voters to work towards bringing a Government with an absolute majority in Karnataka.
''
'' The Prime Minister reminded the people of several development projects launched in the State including the HAL factory in Tumkur, the airport in Shivamogga, the longest railway platform in Hubballi, the inauguration of Narayanapura left bank canal, IIT in Dharwad, 40 lakh new tap water connection through Jal Jeevan Mission, budgetary allocation of over Rs 5300 crore for upper Bhadra project, mega textile park and the recent announcement of Electronic manufacturing cluster in Dharwad. He alleged that Congress is making false promises in the State to the voters which will not be realised.
''
'' He pointed out that the Congress had made several such tall promises in Himachal Pradesh and after forming Government there, it has not fulfilled any of these promises. He said that if Congress is brought back to power, they will treat Karnataka as an ATM. The Prime Minister promised to visit Karnataka again in the first week of April to inaugurate a major Tiger conservation project.
''
'' Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, BJP State President Naleen Kumar Kateel and several Ministers in the State and Central Cabinets and BJP Legislators were present on this occasion.
