Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi last night after a week-long visit to Ireland and the United States. In a tweet message after his arrival in New Delhi, Mr Modi said his visit has created several successful outcomes and opportunities for India.<br/><br/>During his visit to Ireland, he held bilateral talks with his Irish counterpart Enda Kenny. In the United States, Prime Minister visited two cities, New York and San Jose. <br/><br/>He addressed the UN Sustainable Development Summit and Leaders' Summit on Peacekeeping at UN Headquarters in New York. He had a series of bilateral talks with heads of many states including US President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande. <br/><br/>During the visit, Prime Minister used all possible platforms to effectively articulate India's view point on several key global issues like time bound reforms in United Nations including Security Council, India's bid for permanent seat in the Council, terrorism, climate change and international peacekeeping. <br/><br/>He even put forth the idea of climate justice which can have significant impact on the forthcoming COP 21 in Paris from the perspective of developing nations.<br/><br/>On economic front, in his meetings with top business leaders of America, he convincingly presented India as the ideal investment destination which will be a big boost to Make in India and Digital India initiatives. He also reaffirmed his priorities of deregulation and making India investor friendly. His choice to visit Silicon Valley could be a game changer for India's quest for clean energy and Start up India programme as Silicon Valley is the start up and innovation capital of the world. <br/><br/>In an emotional connect with Indian Diaspora, Mr Modi negated the very idea of Brain Drain by calling it as a Brain deposit of India and instilled them with pride for their achievements but also sought their contribution for India's development. The visit also projected Prime Minister as a big proponent of technology and social media and their use for better governance drawing an instant cheer from the youth. The visit was significant as it outlined agenda in diplomatic, political, economic and cultural fields for both short and long term.
