Outgoing President Pranab Mukherjee today said that his sacred text during past fifty years of his public life has been the Constitution of India. He said this at a book release function at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The book titled- Selected Speeches of President Pranab Mukherjee was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in presence of President-elect Ramnath Kovind and other dignitaries. Mr Mukherjee said, his temple has been the Parliament and his passion service of the people.<br/><br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Vice President Mohd Hamid Ansari highlighted Mr Mukherjee's interests in innovation, learning and research. He said, the President showed keen interest in these areas during his tenure. Mr Ansari said, the President wanted to increase country's rating in global innovation index.<br/> <br/>In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the outgoing President Pranab Mukherjee as a person with extremely knowledgeable and extremely simple personality. <br/><br/>He said, whenever he discussed official matters with the President he guided him and offered constructive feedback. Mr Modi said, the guidance he received from Mr Mukherjee will help him immensely in future.
