PM Modi reaches Nairobi

Prime Ministers Narendra Modi reached Nairobi, Capital of Kenya. This is his final stop in the four-nation tour of Africa. He becomes the first Indian Prime Minister to Visit Kenya after 35 years. The total Indian Diaspora of Kenya stands at around 80000, of which 20000 are Indian national and rest are people of Indian origin.<br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that Kenya and India have a shared history going back a long way. The Indian Ocean bound the East African coast and India in a shared trade route that saw exchanges taking place for centuries. The entry of British in Kenya and their plan to build a railway from Mombasa to Kampala saw the arrival of thousands of Indians in Kenya.<br/><br/>Over the time the India Community played a critical role in fashioning the economy of Kenya. Now the Indian community is a established member of Kenyan Society, with two Indians holding seat in Kenyan Parliament. Also thousands of Kenyan students travel to India to pursue their higher education. As first of its kind in his African trip, Prime Minister will be addressing the Students community in University of Nairobi who studied in India.<br/><br/><br/>The Next day Prime Minister will visit Jomo Kenyatta Memorial. From the Memorial Mr. Modi will go to the State house and he will meet the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta. The delegation level talks and signing of agreements will follow after the meeting of dignitaries. After the talks, both the dignitaries release a press statement. Later Mr. Modi will visit the Nairobi University.<br/><br/>At Nairobi University, apart from addressing the students there Prime minister will also be offering floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Located in the University. In the evening he will pay a visit to United Nations office, in Nairobi, In later part of the evening Prime Minister along with the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta will be addressing the Business Forum Meet in Hotel Kempinski. A 85 member strong After that he will be leaving for India.
