Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Myanmar on a three day State visit in the final leg of his two nation tour. He arrived at Nay Pyi Taw, the Capital City of Myanmar, this afternoon.<br/><br/>Mr Modi will be accorded ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Palace in the evening. He will also meet Myanmar President Htin Kyaw, who is hosting a banquet in the honour of the Prime Minister. Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will hold wide-ranging talks with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. After concluding his engagements in Nay Pyi Taw, Mr Modi will travel to Bagan, where India is involved in development cooperation project.<br/><br/>He will then visit Yangon, where he will have a series of engagements including interaction with the Indian community. The Prime Minister will return to India on the next day.<br/> <br/>It is Prime Minister Modi's first bilateral visit to Myanmar. Earlier, he visited the country in 2014 to participate in ASEAN-India summit. During the talks between Prime Minister and Myanmar, leadership from both sides are expected to ink various agreements in the fields including Maritime Security, capacity building and health.<br/><br/>Besides, ways to deepen security and defence cooperation and implementation of India-assisted development projects are likely to figure during the talks. The visit will provide an opportunity to both sides to discuss ways to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
