PM Modi promises corruption free administration in Jammu & Kashmir if voted to power

Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi today said, his party will pursue development in Jammu and Kashmir and rid the State of alleged corruption if voted to power.

Addressing his first rally at Kishtwar in the poll-bound State, he said the new government will complete the development work started by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Mr Modi charged the ruling National Conference-Congress government with neglecting development work in the State.

He held dynasty politics responsible for lack of development in the State adding that his government will not allow the State to be ruined. He said the people are tired of Pakistan and youth want jobs. Mr Modi pledged that he will try to make once again Jammu and Kashmir as a favourite location for the film industry.

Mr Modi said he visits Jammu and Kashmir frequently as he shares a special bond with the people.

AIR correspondent reports that on the penultimate day of election campaign for the first phase of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir senior leaders of various political parties and independent candidates are today making every effort to woo the voters in their favour.

Mr. Modi said that he is committed to fulfil the incomplete works of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee which the later had dreamed of for Kashmir. He alleged that dynasty rule of two families in the State is responsible for the present situation of the State where the people are still deprived of the basic amenities of life.

He also criticised the previous governments in State for not exploiting the tourism and power potential of the State. He made it clear that no one would be allowed to misuse the central funds meant for the rehabilitation of the people of the State affected in recent floods.
