Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that although the Indian team may not have won medals in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, yet the youngsters have won the hearts of everyone. The tournament ended yesterday in Kolkata. The Prime Miniter congratulated England for winning the Cup while stating that all the teams had displayed their best talent during the tournament held in India for the first time.In his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', the Prime Minister noted that India won the Asia Cup Hockey after 10 years while shuttler K Srikanth won the Denmark Open after Indonesia Open and Australia Open. Turning to FIFA Under-17, the Prime Minister said there was excitement among the players as well as spectators during such a big tournament.Earlier, in his tweet, the Prime Minister congratulated the youngsters from England on winning the Cup and Spain for a spirited game. In another tweet, he said the FIFA Under-17 World Cup was a celebration of football. The Prime Minister said India was honoured & delighted to host the tournament.
