PM Modi offers assistance to Afghanistan, Pak after earthquake

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today offered assistance to Afghanistan and Pakistan as a major earthquake struck the region. Mr. Modi spoke to Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and expressed his sympathies and condolences at the damage caused by the earthquake. He said, Ashraf Ghani shared his initial assessment of the damage and said due to the quake a school building collapsed and some children lost their lives.<br/><br/>In a tweet, Mr. Modi said has also asked for urgent assessment of the damage caused by the quake which also hit many parts of India. He prayed for everyone's safety. Prime Minister also spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in view of earthquake and took stock of the situation.
